Michael Retondo: My name is Michael. Most people call me Mike. Mikey is okay too. I play bass and sing harmony in a band called Plain White T's. I grew up in and near Chicago. I was in a gifted school for about grades 1-3, but I don't really remember any of the Latin they taught us. I stopped going to school in 8th grade. I didn't really like school, and my brother had a friend who was home-schooled for the longest time, so we convinced our mom to let us have a go at it. We both hated almost everything about school. I started playing music about the same time I started walking. We had a piano in our house, and my mom would play some melodies on it, and I would play them right back. The first song I learned was "Don't fence me in", which might say something about my outlook on life and politics. According to my mom, When I was born, the doctor layed me on my back, and I flipped myself over onto my stomach all by myself. I also started climbing out of my crib before I could even walk. Makes me wonder why I don't have super human strength at this point. Right now in my life, I'm in a different city almost every day of the year.
